Vodafone Australia, a mobile telecommunications company that operates the Vodafone and Crazy John\'s brands in Australia, offers the fastest LTE broadband download speeds in Sydney and Melbourne. Telstra, an Australian telecommunications and media company, offers the fastest 3G speeds in both cities.

In Sydney, Vodafone LTE users can experience speeds of 33.9 Mbps while Telstra users can download at 20.7 Mbps. Optus offers 18.3 Mbps LTE Internet, Telecompaper.com reported citing research by OpenSignal. In Melbourne, Vodafone\'s LTE network showed average speeds of 36.6 Mbps, followed by Telstra\'s 21.3 Mbps, and Optus with 12.3 Mbps. However, Optus, the second largest telecommunications company in Australia, came first in LTE upload speeds in both cities.

3G speed results show that Telstra offers the fastest speeds in both Sydney (4.6 Mbps) and Melbourne (4.1 Mbps), followed by Vodafone with 3.4 Mbps in Sydney and 3.5 Mbps in Melbourne, and Optus with 3.2 Mbps in Sydney and 3.4 Mbps in Melbourne. Telstra and Vodafone both offer 3G upload speeds of 1.6 Mbps in Sydney, and Optus clocked in at 1.1 Mbps. In Melbourne, Vodafone leads in 3G upload speed with 1.5 Mbps, followed by Optus and Telstra with 1.4 Mbps.
