E-Plus LTE set for next month opening
The Dutch telecoms group KPN’s German mobile unit, E-Plus, will begin its LTE services in early March, by offering 4G data speeds to all its customers at no additional charge, TeleGeography reports.
The company says the LTE service is part of its data-centric business model, where all E-Plus customers are offered the highest possible data rates on its 3.5G network, available since Dec 1, 2013, no matter what their tariff plan, and at no additional cost. E-Plus says its UMTS network covers 80 percent of the population, with 97 percent of its mobile base stations upgraded to HSPA+ technology.
