Voice command added to Google’s Android app

Google has added a voice-activated video-photo function to its Google Search for Android app, pcmag.com reports, noting that this latest update allows users to tap the microphone, or say "OK Google", followed by "take a photo" or "take a video" and Google will gear the camera app to the preferred mode.

Google said the new feature could help people save precious seconds when they want to quickly capture a moment. This follows Google’s last year introduction of hands-off voice commands for the Moto X smartphone, which lets people call a friend, search the Web, or request directions, simply by saying "OK Google" to make the request. Last month, the company introduced a new Chrome Beta version that integrates the "OK Google" voice command for hands-off searches.
