EE, the UK’s largest mobile network operator by subscribers, has announced the launch of 4G services in 12 more towns, bringing the total network coverage to 187 locations, TeleGeography writes, explaining that, under the latest expansion phase, the cellco’s LTE-based services are available in Antrim, Coleraine and Newtownabbey, in Northern Ireland; Bridgend and Pontypool, in Wales; Livingstone in Scotland; and Burnley, Leigh, Macclesfield, Nuneaton, Sittingbourne and Tamworth in England. The operator has also said that ‘key routes’ between Edinburgh and Glasgow, and between Cardiff and Swansea are being upgraded to 4G to meet the growing demand for superfast connectivity on the move.

In commenting on the network deployment, EE’s CEO, Olaf Swantee, noted, “Our 4G rollout is continuing at an industry-leading pace, reaching more people in places across the UK … As well as expanding our 4G network to new areas, our teams are switching on new 4G sites in existing 4G cities and towns to make the EE network experience even better.”
