Vodafone Romania plans to increase its LTE speeds, from April 1, to 150 Mbps, from 100 Mbps, in areas where LTE services are available, writes Telecompaper quoting the local Hotnews.ro. According to its interim CEO and CTO, Giovanni Chiarelli, Vodafone is already testing 300 Mbps as well, and these speeds will be available late in 2014. In the fiscal year ending March 2015, the company will increase the number of LTE sites to cover 70 percent of the urban population. LTE coverage should reach 100 percent by March 2016.

The operator has seen an increase in LTE traffic since August 2013, Chiarelli said. And the number of compatible LTE phones and number of customers who simultaneously use its LTE network rose significantly over the past six months.
