Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom, working under the Beeline brand, has raised the capacity of its LTE and 3G network in the city of Astrakhan, Telecompaper.com reported on Thursday. The operator has also introduced Dual Carrier-HSDPA+ (DC-HSDPA) technology in the town of Kamyshin in the Volgograd region, with 80 percent of 3G base stations in the area currently supporting the technology.

Beeline has raised the number of its 3G base stations by 15 percent in the Belgorod region since the beginning of the year, and aims to double that number by the end of the year. HSPA+ technology has been introduced on the 3G network in the towns of Serov, Tavda, Sukhoy-Log and Verkhnyaya-Pyshma in the Yekaterinburg region. Almost 50 base stations have been upgraded there.
