Telia Sweden is moving forward with its fiber network expansion, this time in Oskarshamn, Kalmar county, and in Varmland county, Telecompaper.com reported on Thursday, with the former adding another 1,600 homeowners to its fiber grid, on top of the 1,000 villas already connected. They will have access to a 1,000-Mbps service for downloads and uploads alike. This is an open access network, so homeowners can select their own TV, broadband or telephone provider. Telia will also expand its LTE grid in Oskarshamn to cover large parts of the town by the end of the year. In Varmland county, around 3,000 houses in Sunne, Torsby and Kil will now be able to connect to Telia\'s fiber optic network, and it will extend its 4G grid there, while, at the same time, modernizing its 2G network.
