Bharti Airtel, India’s largest cello by subscribers, has started 4G mobile services in the cities of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, in the Punjab area, Telegeography.com reports, quoting the Economic Times, and noting that Airtel previously provided data-only Time Division Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) services in those cities, but is now making 4G services available for handsets.

The operator has started circuit switched fallback (CSFB) technology that allows use of the 4G network for data services, while calls are routed through the 2G network.
