The Israeli operator Pelephone has confirmed that it reached an agreement with Ericsson to build a 4G network, Telecompaper.com reported, on Thursday, adding that the deal includes upgrading the network center to support LTE, as well as the installation of radio equipment, and additional adjustments to the network so it can support LTE. The equipment will also support LTE Advanced technology.

The Israelis said Ericsson will start the supply work immediately, and they expect to be ready to start service on hundreds of sites in the Dan and Jerusalem areas in approximately three months. The network is still subject to the regulator’s approval as well as the allocation of necessary frequencies.
