3 Austria waiting for RTR approval to extend LTE network
Customers using Hutchison Drei Austria (3 Austria) will have to wait a bit longer for LTE network development, Telecompaper.com has reported, quoting WebStandard, noting that the company has to wait for the regulator RTR to approve its use of existing 1,800-MHz GSM frequencies for LTE services.
A company spokesman, Tom Tesch, said they expected approval by summer and to extend the network as soon as that happens. Tesch went on to say that LTE coverage will reach 50 percent, by the end of 2014, and as high as 98 percent, by 2015.
