Max Telecom deploys first commercial LTE network in Bulgaria
Bulgaria’s wireless broadband operator Max Telecom has opened the country’s first commercial 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, Telegeography.com reports, noting that the mobile broadband service is currently available in the cities of Sofia, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Sliven and Bansko.
The company has a partnership deal with Apple, where customers who purchase Apple’s iPad, from May 20 to June 30, can get a free 4G LTE data SIM card valid until Sept 30. And certain stores will offer a 12-percent discount on iPad Air Cellular 16GB tablets, while those who already own an LTE-enabled tablet will get unlimited 4G access until the end of September if they purchase the operator’s ‘4G 4U’ starter pack, currently priced at BGN10 ($7).
