Russia’s mobile operator MTS has built 150 LTE-ready base stations in the Krasnodar area since the beginning of the year, Telecompaper.com reports, quoting Cnews.ru, and explaining that average mobile Internet speed has been increased by 30 percent, and services are available in 10 new agglomerations.

The operator has put more than RUB10 billion ($288 million) into the network since September 2011, for LTE services in the region. The number of base stations doubled and the length of the fiber-optic network increased to 11,200 kilometers.
