Telrad Networks has announced that Multitel will use Telrad equipment to change its network from fixed Wimax to TD-LTE, for the growing number of enterprise and residential subscribers across Angola, Telecompaper.com reports. Multitel can leverage Telrad\'s turnkey 4G solutions to extend its offerings to the small office-home office market with data, voice and video services thanks to a significantly increased capacity network.

The BreezeCompact 2,000 base station, combined with Telrad\'s CPE, will help open a path for Multitel to migrate to LTE. Telrad\'s dual-technology base station has a software radio design (SDR) that allows a software-only migration from Wimax to LTE. The Radio Access Network device supports longer-range connectivity and works in non-line-of-sight areas. Multitel has been an Alvarion customer for many years now, with the BreezeMAX infrastructure already in the field.
