Movistar Peru has announced that it has extended its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to areas of Trujillo and Arequipa, raising its 4G coverage to 31 districts, Telegeography.com. The operator has so far signed up some 90,000 LTE subscribers, up from 70,000 at the start of May and an estimated 40,000 at the end of March 2014.

The Spanish-backed provider intends to invest $400 million in its 4G platform over the next five years and is targeting total coverage of Lima as well as areas of Chiclayo and Piura.
