MTS tests LTE in Samara
Russian mobile operator MTS has begun testing its LTE network in the city of Samara, reports Telecompaper.com, quoting Cnews.ru. The testing focuses on adapting the network architecture to different landscapes in residential parts of the city, and on resolving problems related to the interaction of base stations of various generations.
All of the operator’s 3G base stations working in the city have been fully transferred to IP technology, and it has introduced Dual Carrier-HSDPA+ on more than 60 percent of the base stations.
