Residents of the Crimea region have obtained 100,000 Sims from Russian mobile operators, reports Telecompaper.com, citing Nikolay Nikiforov, Russian communications and mass media minister.

Sales of the Sims started there last week as Russian operators invest in infrastructure in the region and it is expected to be covered with 3G and LTE networks soon. Reserved telecommunications link from Russia, including a submarine line, are under construction and the first link from Russia, including a 46-km submarine line was built in April.
