Russian mobile operator Megafon has started testing digital TV services over the LTE Broadcast technology in the city of Moscow, reports Telecompaper.com on July 9, 2014. Testing of the eMBMS technology (evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services – LTE Broadcast) is being carried out in the 2,600 MHz band using equipment from Huawei. Megafon launched LTE-Advanced in central Moscow earlier this year, and the coverage is planned to be expand to the Moscow Ring Motorway by the end of the year.
