Sprint unveils combination mini projector and mobile hotspot
Sprint has announced plans to launch the first commercially available pocket projector and mobile hotspot, Sprint LivePro, on July 11, Telecompaper.com reported on July 9, 2014. The new device combines a mini projector with a 10-inch to 10-foot projection display and 3G/LTE mobile hotspot powered by network data capabilities of Sprint Spark, where available. It also supports up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously. With Sprint Easy Pay, the device will be available to qualified buyers for zero money down and 24 equal monthly payments of $18.75.
Sprint LivePro measures 4.7 inches x 4.7 inches and is 1.1 inches thick, enabling it to fit in a briefcase or purse. It features an embedded speaker providing audio during video or presentations. For enhanced sound, separate speakers can be paired via Bluetooth or attached to the device with a 3.5mm jack. LivePro also comes equipped with a 4-inch touchscreen display, Android 4.2 user interface and a 5,000mAh lithium ion battery that can be used as a power bank to charge other mobile devices. Users can also share content via an HDMI or USB cable, or wirelessly mirror a smartphone or tablet display using Wi-Fi Miracast. Through the Wi-Fi connection, users can pull content from the cloud directly from the device and stream video and audio content with a Wi-Fi connection or data plan.
