Slovak Telekom reported first-half revenues of EUR 389.2 million ($520.05 million), down 0.6 percent from a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA fell 4.9 percent to EUR 154.5 million, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 7, 2014. Fixed revenues rose 9.1 percent to EUR 203 million, helped by the company’s takeover of the Digi TV service, while mobile revenues were down 9.7 percent to EUR 186 million. Digi contributed EUR 13.5 million in revenue, and the operator also reported a near doubling in ICT revenues to EUR 22.6 million.

The number of fixed lines fell by 2.6 percent year-on-year and by 24,000 in just the past three months to 908,000 as of June. Broadband customers increased by 18,000 in the three months and 4.3 percent year-on-year to 440,000. TV customers jumped to 455,000, more than double that of a year ago, with an increase of 11,000 in Q2. Slovak Telekom attributed customer growth to its new bundled offers under the name Smart.

Mobile customers still continue to decline in Q2, down by 20,000 to 2.237 million. This included losses of 14,000 postpaid and 6,000 prepaid users. An ARPU of EUR 12 ($16.03) was stable versus Q1, but down from EUR 13 a year ago. Slovak Telekom more than doubled capex year-on-year in H1 to EUR 158 million ($211.09 million) on the roll-out of its LTE network, which covered 35 percent of the population by the end of June. Cash flow subsequently dropped to EUR 25 million from EUR 104 million a year ago.
