Venezuelan mobile telephony operator Digitel expects its fiber optic network to reach approximately 4,000 kilometers by the end of the year, reported Telecompaper.com on Aug 7, 2014. The operator is in the process of expanding its LTE network, which currently provides coverage in 108 cities and localities in 21 states. Digitel has already invested $800 million in the deployment of 4G infrastructure across the country. The operator initially launched its 4G LTE service at the end of last year.
