Claro Colombia reaches 500,000 4G subscribers
Claro Colombia has reached 500,000 subscribers in its 4G LTE segment, reported Telecompaper.com on Aug 7, 2014. The operator\'s 4G service is already active in over 100 municipalities and 28 department capitals across Colombia. According to the company’s executive, Claro\'s 4G service will be commercially available in over 600 municipalities in Colombia within the next five years. Claro Colombia, fully owned by Mexican telecoms operator America Movil, first launched LTE services in Colombia in February. The operator ended June with a total of 29.1 mobile telephony subscribers in the country, up 4.7 percent year-on-year.
