P1 shareholders approve deal with Telekom Malaysia, SK

Shareholders of Green Packet have approved the proposed Packet One Networks (P1) investment agreement with Telekom Malaysia and SK Telecom, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 8, 2014. The agreement, to jointly invest in P1, was initially announced on March 27. The project is slated for completion in the third quarter. Telekom Malaysia will initially invest up to MYR 560 million ($175.2 million), MYR 350 million of which will go toward P1 via the subscription of ordinary shares and MYR 210 million ($65.63 million) of which will go toward Green Packet via newly issued exchangeable bonds. The bonds may be exchanged for Green Packet\'s stake in P1 in the future. Strategic partners are expected to invest a further MYR 1.65 billion in P1\'s LTE rollout and operations over the next few years.
