The consulting and testing firm P3 communications announced the launch of a regular mobile network benchmark in the UK, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 18, 2014. Based on voice and data measurements, the benchmark is designed to analyze and objectively compare the performance of all UK mobile networks from the end-user\'s perspective. It will focus on voice and data services on LTE smartphones. Measurements will be conducted across big metropolitan areas and connecting roads between cities and smaller towns close to connecting roads. The testing will start in October, with the first report published in November. P3 communications has been running similar annual mobile network benchmarks in Germany since 2002 and in Austria and Switzerland since 2009.
