Colombian telecoms operator Avantel reached nearly 240,000 subscribers in the corporate segment, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 18, 2014. The executive said that the operator\'s base includes 21,000 companies across the country. Avantel expects to launch its 4G LTE service by the end of the third quarter of 2014. Avantel selected Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) to supply the complete infrastructure for its LTE network. The executive said that the firm would continue to focus on the corporate segment and confirmed the operator was not planning to launch 4G for the residential segment. In 2013, Avantel acquired 30MHz of spectrum in the AWS band.
