Kazakhstan operator Altel, a subsidiary of the national operator Kazakhtelecom, has introduced a promotion of smartphones from Lenovo in its shops. A dual-sim device, powered by the Android 4.2 OS, is offered starting from KZT 9,990, depending on the tariff chosen, Telecompaper.com reported on Sept 17, 2014. Altel provides LTE services in 15 cities across the country, and the services are also planned to launch in the cities of Taraz, Kyzylorda, Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar, Taldykorgan, Uralsk, Kokshetau and Kostanay on 19 September. Another 12 cities and towns with populations over 50,000 will be covered this year.
