Pelephone confirms Ericsson as sole 4G vendor
Israel’s Bezeq is said to have waived the option of having a secondary supplier for the 4G network being rolled out by its mobile unit Pelephone, according to Globes Online, Telegeography.com reported on Sept 17, 2014.
As previously reported by CommsUpdate, back in April 2014 Bezeq revealed in a statement to the local stock exchange that it had contracted Swedish vendor Ericsson for the rollout of Pelephone’s LTE network. While no financial details of the deal were disclosed, the operator did reveal that the equipment provided by Ericsson would be LTE Advanced (LTE-A) compatible, with deployment to begin immediately.
