Vodacom to launch sub-ZAR 1,500 LTE smartphone
Vodacom South Africa has announced plans to launch the Vodafone Turbo, a new branded smartphone with LTE support for below ZAR 1,500, reports Telecompaper.com on Oct 15, 2014. Vodafone said it will bring out more details on the launch at a later date. The mobile network operator did not disclose specifications and contract deal information, but did say that the device is currently in testing. If all goes well, the Vodafone Turbo could be available before the end of the year. Vodacom currently offers its own LTE-capable Android smartphone, the Vodafone Smart 4 Power, for ZAR 2,759. The mobile operator also recently launched its own tablet PC, the Vodacom Smart Tab 3G, for ZAR 999.
