He joined ITRI in 2016leads the teams for 4G+/5G experimental network development, OT industry R&Dbusiness development, international cooperation strategy planningexecution, etc. Prior to this job, Howard has held several senior positions at Taiwan Operators. He was previously EVP/COO of Taiwan International Gateway Company, CTO of Global Mobile,VP of Fareastone.

Ho-Chi Hwang

Dr. Ho-Chi Hwang leads the engineering team to conduct systematic testing and certification process to insure 4G and 5G modem performance, quality and stability since 2022. He leads the team to analyze and solve modem issues and support MediaTek’s customers in launching their products.


He joined MediaTek in 2000 and started developing 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE communication system. Then, he had been responsible to develop all generations of 3GPP-based communication systems for wireless products from 3G to 5G and he and his team also were responsible for 3GPP research and standardization.


Before joining MediaTek, he served as a researcher to study the advanced receiver architecture for WCDMA communication system at Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan.

Aidy Zhang

Mr. Aidy Zhang Qi is currently the VP of Global TD-LTE for Nokia Networks. Aidy has over ten years’ professional experiences in software development, wirelessmobile industry in areas of network, devicesservices. He joined Nokia Networks in 2002 as the first batch of employees in Hangzhou site. He has been holding various management positions in Nokia China R&D centers, including Project Manager, Head of WCDMA, Head of OSS, Site Manager of Chengdu R&D Center, etc. Mr. Zhang graduated from Zhejiang University with the degree in ComputerSoftware,Master of Business Management. He holds an MBA degree from ENPC.

Tang Hai

Mr. Tang Hai is the Chief 5G Scientist at OPPO. He has over 20 years of experience across different sectors of mobile communication industry, covering operator, infra-structure vendor and device vendor.


He is a well-known standardization expert and has contributed substantially to the formation of global 4G &5G standards.


Mr. Tang served as a Vice Chairman of 3GPP TSG RAN during 2009-2013. He joined OPPO in 2015 and is now Director of Telecommunications Standards.

James Wilson

As Vice President of Strategic Marketing at Qorvo, Inc., James is responsible for driving Qorvo’s long term market, technology and M&A roadmaps. James joined Qorvo in 2020. Prior to joining Qorvo, James was Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm’s RFFE Business Unit. James led building the business unit from its creation in 2015 through direct hiring and acquisition. Before Qualcomm, James was Vice President of Marketing at Broadcom/Avago’s Wireless Semiconductor Division from 2008 to 2015. James has been in the RFFE industry for over 34 years. James has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida.

Edward George Tiedemann

Dr. Edward G. Tiedemann, Jr. is a Qualcomm Fellowa Senior Vice President of Engineering of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. He leads Qualcomm’s worldwide standardizationindustry organization activities. Dr. Tiedemann was instrumental in the designdevelopment of the TIA/EIA/IS-95 CDMA system, also called cdmaOne™. He led Qualcomm’smuch of the industry’s efforts in the designdevelopment of the third-generation cdma2000®system.


Dr. Tiedemann holds the Ph.D. degree from MIT where he worked in the areas of queueing theorycommunications networks. He holds the Master of Science degree from Purdue University where he worked on bandwidth efficient modulation. He also holds the Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic InstituteState University (Va Tech).

Mr. Christoph Pointner joined the company in 2005 and since then has held several managerial positions within different technologically driven divisions including an assignment as General Manager of the System Support Center at Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc.


In his current role he has the profit and loss responsibility for the product line of mobile radio testers allowing Rohde & Schwarz’ customers to develop, verify and validate their mobile phone products both in a research and development as well as a production environment for cellular and non-cellular technologies.

With over 10 years of product developmentmanagement experience in the Industrial Technology Research InstituteInternational Integrated Systems Inc., he joined Sercomm as one of the founders in 1992, leading the research team in developing various core technologies, including Internet communications software/firmware integration servicesR&D of Internet Protocols, which later proved to be the foundation stone of Sercomm’s success as a leader in broadband telecommunications domain.
