Ooredoo joins NSN for Myanmar rollout
The Qatari-backed telecom operator Ooredoo has chosen to join Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) in entering the Myanmar market, with NSN as the main supplier of radio and core equipment for its 3G network.
The two parties have signed a 2-year agreement to build a complete 3G radio access network (RAN). TeleGeography has noted that Ooredoo expects to have a great leap in 2-G technology with its Myanmar development, going straight to a 3G-only network using the 900MHz and 2100MHz bands.
