The Dutch mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Telfort has begun its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services, a week after the planned switch-on, Telecompaper.com reported on April 4 and saying that the operator announced in the run-up to the proposed March 31 introduction that it would be postponing the launch for “technical problems”.

It has found that those problems are limited to Samsung handsets and has implemented an InternetVersneller 4G tariff that allows existing Telfort customers to upgrade to 4G data speeds for 5 euro ($6.86) a month. Samsung users have to apply a software update to get access to the new LTE-based offering.
