Kyrgyzstan mobile operator Megacom expanded its 3.75G network to cover over 50 percent of the populated area in the country in 2013, Telecompaper.com reported on Wednesday.

More than 20 percent of subscribers currently use the broadband services. Megacom switched all its 3G base stations to IP in 2013 and also raised the capacity of its network significantly, preparing the base for LTE network deployment. The operator also recently opened a new retail outlet and service centre in the city of Osh.
