China ends March with 1.51 billion telephone subscribers
This past March saw China with 1.51 billion mobile subscribers, after adding 7.47 million telephone subscribers that month, Marbridge Daily reports, citing Industry and Information Technology Ministry data.
The month saw the number of mobile telephone subscribers jump 8.65 million, to almost 1.25 billion, while fixed-line subscribers were down 1.17 million, to 263.7 million.
Of those new mobile subscribers, 15.2 million were 3G subscribers, with the monthly total reaching 445 million. At the same time, the number of LTE subscribers increased 1.45 million, to 2.79 million by month’s end. China had a little over 194 million broadband uses after adding 1.92 million in March.
