Samsung will announce its first smartphone based on the Tizen OS, next month, with a device shaped like the Galaxy S4, for summer availability, Itproportal.com writes.

Tizen Indonesia had a new blog stating that the Korean company will make the smartphone available in Russia next month, with a launch event to mark the first time for a Tizen smartphone to hit the market.

A Samsung official informed the site that the Tizen smartphone is critical in assisting the convergence of all electronic devices that work on Samsung’s OS, which includes the recently released Tizen smartwatch.

Russia will be the first to get the device, before it makes its way to Brazil and other developing countries, in line with Samsung’s strategy to target countries where the smartphone market is still developing to give the OS a better chance of success.
