Russian mobile operator Megafon and its subsidiary Scartel have doubled the capacity of LTE base stations from 110 Mbps to 220 Mbps in some cities in Siberia, reports Telecompaper.com. The upgrade involved deploying a second carrier of 15 MHz in the 2.6 GHz band on base stations in cities of Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk and Tomsk.
