Sprint deploys 4G in Visalia
Sprint has announced that it has expanded its 4G LTE network to 20 new markets, including the Visalia and Porterville areas of US, Thebusinessjournal.com reports, and goes on to say that Sprint says the 4G network reaches download speeds of 6 to 8 megabits per second (Mbps), compared to a max of 1.4 Mpbs with 3G coverage, and upload speeds of 2 to 3 Mbps, compared to 350 to 500 kilobits per second with 3G.
The company also says that its enhanced Sprint Spark is deploying in Provo, Utah to deliver peak wireless speeds of 60 Mbps on enabled devices, with potential speeds of three times that fast by late next year.
Sprint 4G LTE is available in 402 cities across the country, with coverage in California extended to areas like Salinas, Napa, and San Diego, and now Bakersfield, El Centro and Visalia.
Sprint Spark is available in 18 cities, including Los Angeles, California, Austin, Tex. and Miami, Florida.
