MTS starts LTE in Caucasus resorts
Russia’s mobile operator MTS has announced that it has started LTE services in the resort of Mineralnye-Vody, in the Stavropol region, report Telecompaper.com, citing Cnews.ru, and adding that the average broadband speed has risen 10 times and the maximum speed is 75-Mbps.
The network now covers the whole of the city of Pyatigorsk, including the resort areas. MTS plans to start providing services in Kislovodsk and Georgiyevsk, as well as in other agglomerations, in autumn. The LTE network will cover an area with 1.2 million residents by then.
