Telekom Malaysia launched a 4G broadband offering dubbed “TMgo” in the city of Alor Setar in the Malaysian state of Kedah, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 11, 2014. The TMgo service, which is currently available at 17 sites in Kota Setar and Pendang, Kedah, will provide customers in underserved areas of the country with high-speed broadband connectivity.

The TMgo service launch followed a trial of the service conducted at the end of last year in Kedah. The service coverage will be expanded as Telekom Malaysia deploys additional base stations in other states nationwide.

TMgo will initially be offered for data access via prepaid USB dongle and MiFi. As an introductory price, TMgo start-up packages are available for MYR 115 ($35.98) for a SIM Pack and a 4G LTE USB Adaptor (Dongle) option, and MYR 315 ($98.54) for a SIM Pack and a 4G LTE Mobile Router (MiFi) option, which includes 2GB data quota and a bonus of 500 MB for 6 months.
