Ecuador expects private 4G networks to be ready by mid-2015
The government of Ecuador expects private 4G networks to be operational by mid-2015, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 11, 2014.
The official added that the government expects the deployment of 4G networks to take nearly 9 months. In June, Ecuador\'s government kicked off negotiations with mobile operators Claro and Movistar regarding 4G concessions. The government plans to award spectrum in the 1,900 MHz band for the provision of 4G services. State-run operator CNT already offers 4G LTE in the country.
