Marvell powers Samsung\'s new LTE smartphone, mobile hotspot

Marvell announced that its Armada Mobile PXA family is powering Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Core Mini LTE smartphone and multi-mode mobile hotspot, the SMV101F, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 12, 2014. Marvell\'s multi-mode LTE communications processor, the Armada Mobile PXA1920, and modem, the Marvell Armada Mobile PXA1802, power the Galaxy Core Mini 4G and the Samsung SM-V101F mobile hotspot, respectively.

The Marvell PXA1920 features a quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor with high-performance graphics integrated with field-proven cellular modems supporting LTE TDD, TD-HSPA+ and EDGE. The Marvell PXA1920 also incorporates high-performance graphics with Marvell\'s Avastar 88W8777 wireless connectivity. Samsung\'s new smartphone is now shipping to China Mobile Communications (CMCC).

The Marvell PXA1802 LTE modem chipset supports FDD-LTE standards with Category 4 150Mbps download throughput, Release 7 WCDMA HSPA+ and EGPRS. The Samsung SM-V101F mobile hotspot is currently shipping.
