Venezuela restarts 4G tender
The government of Venezuela has restarted a tender through which it expects to awards spectrum in both AWS and 2.5GHz bands,Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 25. The tender had been initially announced in December 2013 but was suspended in January this year. Telecom regulator Conatel\'s tender commission will begin activities next week. The regulator also said nationwide LTE coverage is expected to be reached in five years. Mobile operator Digitel is the only company which currently offers LTE technology. The telco has already deployed over 900 base stations across Venezuela, for the provision of 4G services in 108 cities and localities in 21 states.
