Argentine cable TV operator Cablevision wants to acquire the tender documents to participate in an auction to obtain 3G and 4G LTE spectrum, Telecompaper.com reported on Aug 25.

Cablevision, owned by media conglomerate Grupo Clarin aims to participate in the tender through its ISF Fibertel\'s telecoms license, according to the report. Local operators Claro, Personal, Movistar, Nextel and media holding Grupo Uno have already acquired the tender documents to participate in the auction. The Argentine government expects to award 4G spectrum on Oct 31. The government plans to award 90MHz of spectrum in the 700MHz band as well as another 90MHz in AWS (1.7-2.1GHz). The government also expects to award additional 3G spectrum in both 850MHz and 1,900MHz bands. The country\'s current mobile operators are Claro, Personal and Movistar.
