Mobile operator Tele2 Russia has received from the federal telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor permits for the deployment of several thousand 3G and LTE base stations in the city of Moscow, Telecompaper.com reported on Sept 12, 2014. The regulator has allocated frequencies to the operator for this purpose. RT-Mobile, a subsidiary of T2 RTK Holding, registered 111 LTE base stations earlier this spring. The other subsidiary, Moscow Mobile Connection, registered 560 3G base stations in June-July. Such an amount of base stations is insufficient to cover the whole area of the capital city; nevertheless, a part of the area could be covered. At least 2,500 base stations are necessary for full coverage. The exact date of the launch of services in Moscow hasn\'t been announced yet.
