Argentine operators Claro, Personal, Movistar, Nextel, Cablevision and media holding Grupo Uno have already acquired the tender documents to participate in an auction to obtain 4G LTE spectrum, reported Telecompaper.com on Sept 12, 2014. Interested firms have until 17 September to buy the bidding conditions for USD 24,000. The Argentine government expects to award 4G spectrum on 31 October. The government plans to award 90MHz of spectrum in the 700MHz band as well as another 90MHz in AWS (1.7-2.1GHz). The government also expects to award additional 3G spectrum in both the 850MHz and 1,900MHz bands. The government expects to obtain USD 2 billion for the spectrum.
