Chile currently has 1.3 million LTE-capable phones, reported Telecompaper.com on Sept 12, 2014, citing data from consultancy firm IDC. According to the report, local mobile operator Claro currently offers 31 LTE-capable smartphones while Movistar and Entel offer 26 and 20 LTE-capable phones respectively. By mid-July, the country had around 200,000 LTE subscribers, according to previous reports. The three operators are offering LTE services through spectrum in the 2,600 MHz band. In March this year, the three operators won spectrum in the 700 MHz band.
