Optus launches LTE-A carrier aggregation on 4G
Australian operator Optus has commercially launched LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation on its 4G network, reported Telecompaper.com on Sept 22, 2014. Advanced Carrier Aggregation is now live on Optus\'s 2,300MHz spectrum in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, with Canberra to go live within weeks. With Carrier Aggregation live, Optus customers with compatible devices can expect up to two times faster data speeds than they currently experience. Optus has launched CA in preparation for at least four TD-LTE CA devices becoming commercially available in the next couple of months. Optus plans to expand its 4G coverage to 90 percent of Australia\'s population by April 2015.
