MTN Uganda says it is looking to invest 238 billion shillings ($89 million) on upgrading its networks in 2015, up from 157 billion shillings this year and 138 billion shillings in 2013, Telegeography.com reported on Sept 22, 2014. According to local newspaper The Observer, the money will go towards 3G and 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile technology, as well as IT infrastructure and value added services (VAS). The operator said that much of its 2014 spend is going to an upgrade of its mobile money services.
