Movistar Mexico expects to invest 3 billion pesos in the next three years to deploy 4G LTE services in 200 cities across the country, Telecompaper.com reported on Sept 22, 2014. According to the executive, this network deployment will enable Movistar to reach 80 percent of the country\'s urban population with LTE services. Last week, the operator launched 4G LTE services in Mexico City. Calvo said that the operator ended the quarter with a total of 20.24 million mobile telephony subscribers, climbing 6.1 percent year-on-year. Movistar Mexico is fully owned by Spain\'s Telefonica.
