UK mobile and broadband operator EE has launched the Buzzard 2 LTE Wi-Fi in-car modem, Telecompaper.com reports on Nov 14, 2014. Building on the design features of the first version of the Buzzard, the latest model plugs into the car dashboard\'s 12v connection and features an additional USB socket to supply power and charge other devices. The Buzzard 2 also has lighting system showing when it is connected and switched on. It can support 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously and connects to the 4GEE network, now covering cities and towns with 75 percent of the population, and to the EE\'s 3G network elsewhere. The Buzzard 2 is available to businesses and consumers from EE shops, telesales and website. It sells for GBP 79.99 on a pay as you go plan, with those buying the device by 31 January 2015 will receive 100 MB of free data a month. The product also comes on 4GEE pay monthly mobile plans starting from GBP 10 and is free on plans from GBP 15 (3GB) and above.
