MTS opens LTE network in Stavropol
The Russian mobile operator MTS has announced that it has started an LTE network in the Stavropol region under a cooperation agreement with the government, reports Telecompaper.com, quoting Cnews.ru.
The operator plans to provide LTE services in 14 cities and towns across the region by year’s end, with current services reaching Stavropol and Mikhaylovsk. The LTE network will cover Nevynnomysk, Pyatigorsk and other locations in two months. MTS also expanded its 3G network in the region, with 3G base stations established in 39 rural areas since the beginning of the year.
