MTS launches LTE-Advanced in Bashkortostan
Russian mobile operator MTS has introduced LTE-Advanced technology on its network in the Bashkortostan republic, reported Telecompaper.com on Sept 2, 2014. The network uses Ericsson equipment on the 1,800 MHz and 2,600 MHz bands. No financial details were disclosed. The services are currently accessible over modems from Huawei and smartphones from Samsung, with plans for the launch of more devices. MTS also holds licenses for LTE services in the 1,800 MHz band in the cities and regions of Moscow and St Petersburg, as well as in numerous other regions.
